

This image is just a part of what we’re all about. We are about health, healthy longevity (living longer, healthier). And as we age, it’s harder to lean into this. Life changes – we get it. It can be harder, lonelier, more burdened (or less burdened leading to less purpose). It can be chaotic and overwhelming. But it’s a time when making time and taking stock in what you are doing to stay healthy matters even more.
Our environment it unique. It think it’s Ed – you can’t train charisma. You can’t train the care factor. Some people have it and some don’t. And if some that do have charisma and a natural care factor are lucky enough to be in a field where their expertise builds health, then dang it, do you have a magnetic product. That’s what we have here. We train health: strength, metabolic health through nutrition, mental health through workouts and group think, hope through helping others…and as in this image, FUN!
This is Linda and Bev working on a score card from a past Barbells for Boobs competition. Yes, competition. Linda is in her 60’s and Bevvie in her 80’s. Society may think that’s strange. It’s common here. Competition. With others. With ourselves. It’s “sport”. It’s fun. Yes, it’s hard, but the hard is over quickly and then it’s rewarding and fun.
I (coach Sam here) recently reached out to Coach Nic (former CF Kids Coach extraordinaire) and told her we needed a new gig: a gym for the sandwich generations – the beginning and the end -the kids and the seniors. Not that the middle isn’t fun – but there’s a specialty in the “ends”.

WORKOUTS FOR THE WEEK:
MONDAY
Welcome to “break week”! This week we take a break from our Poliquin Cycle to recover from the high reps and get read for the next cycle.
Today we’ll revert back to a traditional week. Today we’ll see our 4 rounds for quality, working on our rope ascents (31 Heroes is coming up in August), a single DB push press and bear crawl. All good strength and mobility movements.
WEDNESDAY
Most of you will love today! Back to the barbell. In between your lifts find a fan and a water bottle.
We’ll squat (back and front), we’ll press (strict and push press) and we’ll deadlift (low reps and heavy).
FRIDAY
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY. The gym is closed today. Enjoy your holiday!
