Please join us as we celebrate the life of Theo Huff, and raise money for the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation.
We know our OG Rebel community is still “splintered” but we’re still together in “all the things” that made us one of the best CrossFit Communities in our day.
On March 29th, from 8:00 a.m. until around 1 or 2:00 p.m. we will host our second event to raise money for pediatric cancer research. This year we’re running a new version of Theo’s WOD to better accommodate those of us who are still working out regularly (good for you! – you’re making us proud) and those of us who’ve found that regularity to be hard and who are missing our community (we get it!). Coach Nicole has helped us create three versions of an EMOM using Theo’s movements so we all get a great workout, even the kiddos!. Bring your best bud, Rebel OG, or just yourself and hang out, throw down, and enjoy the “feels” of the supportive and familiar environment of our Rebel Family.
We will be hyper-focused on the kids this year. Coach Nic will man the floor (with Ed and Sam…but she’s in charge!) with the kids’ WOD from 8-10:00 am. Then we’ll run the adult version from 10:00-12:00 pm and have coverage for “child supervision” so parents can train knowing their kids are being watched. And then during and/or after we’ll run the Legends version to allow the members of the gym that is hosting this event, many of who did not know Theo or even Rebels, to join in this celebration – bringing them closer to Theo and this enormous family.
Ed wanted this to be clear as well: The support of Theo, Theo’s family, and the OG Rebel community that supported the family is the most important here. If you are unable to donate but wish to participate – COME! We don’t want money to get in the way of bringing people together in honor of Theo.
FROM THEO’S PARENTS:
Dear Rebels Friends,
On March 29th, 2025, Sam and Ed will host the 2nd OG Rebels: Remembering Theo Fundraising Event in honor of our son Theo, who passed away from cancer in October 2016 at 19 months old. Many of you in the extensive Rebels family supported us during that incredibly difficult time in our lives, including sharing many beatdowns in Sam and Ed’s place on Sunnydale. We will always be grateful for the love and support you provided us then and now. Sadly, advances in the treatment of pediatric cancers are scientifically and financially extremely challenging. The treatments available for children diagnosed with Theo’s cancer have not improved since 2015. We humbly ask for your support, again, to help us change that.
Every day, 43 children will be diagnosed with cancer, and more than 40,000 children are in treatment every year. The brutal truth is that 1 in 285 children will be diagnosed with cancer, and 12% of them will not survive.
More research is desperately needed to find better treatments for kids like Theo—the funding of which is largely (and disappointingly) dependent upon philanthropy. To no surprise to any of you, Sam and Ed continuously and graciously support their people. This OG Rebels event will benefit the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation (NPCF). NPCF funds pediatric cancer research across a network of more than 30 children’s hospitals across the country. NPCF’s goal is to accelerate discoveries through scientific collaboration to find more effective, less toxic treatments for children.
We invite you to join OG Rebels: Remembering Theo to have a blast with many of the OGs and new friends, and make a difference doing so. We hope to see you on the 29th for a great time that also helps kids and their families faced with a cancer diagnosis.
With love and gratitude,
Ricky and Leah Huff

Fundraising is our goal, as well as community.
There will be other fundraising activities going on onsite:
- Raffles for themed baskets
- Theo cookies (rainbows)
- and more!
We’ll also have kids activities (to keep them occupied!)
Please join us!
Please mark your calendar and save the date – March 29th.
If you have kids, between 8am and 10am we’ll run the kids’ WOD. It was the highlight of the first event and Nicole has big plans this year with an all-star team of help.
Then, we’ve made plans to have our current Legends community help create a secure, safe, and supervised space in the gym to let the kids play while parents partake in the workout. It’s designed for teams, but can certainly be done as an individual.
Finally, bring a lawn chair and stick around to watch the greatest generation (and a few younger ones) take on the new version of Theo’s WOD. Ed and I continue to be amazed at how strong and agile our Legends are.
And, if your Saturday is packed with soccer and baseball games, we’d love it if you’d stop by and say hello❤️.
