Click the image to read the article on The Broken Science Initiative’s website. The question is: if we have seniors above the age of 75 that are getting stronger, muscularly – like their strength is going up – then the studies are not reflective of “seniors” who CONTINUE to train for strength on a regular basis, or who begin strength training in their later ages. What we see in our gym is not common – PR’s are common over the age of 70. Hmmmmmm….
WORKOUTS FOR THE WEEK
MONDAY
Today we honor Chad Wilkinson and do his workout to not only bring awareness to the epidemic of suicide, particularly among veterans but also to help be part of the solution. Chad is a mentally tough workout. To finish it represents mental fortitude – what we’re both promoting and encouraging those in need to seek help when they feel they need it.
WEDNESDAY
Our strength day starts with squat cleans. Our overhead is a BB push press, and our hinge is a Dbl DB or KB DL in higher reps.
FRIDAY
For the next couple of weeks you’ll see a bench press and row combination – something we’ve gotten pretty good at lately! Just haven’t tested the combination yet!
Then, an accessory work ending to our week with partial burpees, lunges, air squats and push ups.
Happy weekend, folks!
