Thought for the week – As we age, we know the value of companionship. We know that as we retire many of us get pets for both the companionship and the exercise (dogs need walked). But pets can pose a risk. Coach Sam here, and I saw it this past week – clingy cats weaving themselves in between the steps of unstable parents. Large, elderly dogs lying in the walking path requiring my folks to maneuver “over” legs and bodies. So what do we do? Look for obstacles in our day and face them – don’t avoid them. Practice makes perfect….practice being agile, it may help you prevent a fall.
REMINDER: WE ARE CLOSED NEXT MONDAY FOR MEMORIAL DAY
WORKOUTS FOR THE WEEK:
MONDAY
Your four-rounder will consist of rope climbs, heavy holds and lunging.
Then, a “Brenton-like” Partner workout of bear crawls and broad jumps.
WEDNESDAY
Our squat is a barbell backsquat with broad jumps in between.
Our press will be accomplished within the hang clean and jerk. We’re supersetting with jumping pull ups.
And our hinge is another round of double dumbbell RDLs.
FRIDAY
We tackle the CrossFit Hero, Murph today! In teams, we’ll accomplish an equivalent (or less) of a mile run via rowing, then 100x pulls, 200x pushes, and 300x squats, followed by another mile. This is our way to honor our service men, espeically those who’ve fallen in the line of duty. You’ve been training for this for months! It’s a great way to start the holiday weekend.
